January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Happy New Year and welcome to the first Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for 2011! If you've come from fancyMelissa's blog, you're on the right track. If this is your first stop, simply follow the links provided at the end of each blog post to get to the next. If you get lost along the way, check out Helen's blog for a complete listing of this month's hoppers!

We're starting the year off right with this gorgeous set called Find Your Style. I simply LOVE the shoe image and the sentiment.

This month's card was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers and super creative ladies, Lisa Stenz. Lisa's clean and simple style always reminds me that less truly IS more! Thank you, Lisa, for always inspiring me!
If you don't recognize the papers I used for these cards, you have to check back here in a day or so or talk to your consultant for all the info on our January special and the NEW Wings paper packet from Close to My Heart! We're definitely starting the year off right with a stunning new paper packet and an amazing special!!
To create this card, I stamped the large shoe using Vineyard Berry ink. With the help of a ruler, I added the straight-line border around the edge. Using Vineyard Berry ink again, I stamped the "Friend", added the black Bitty Brads in the corners and layered onto the Wings B&T paper and the Juniper card base.

If you've just gotta have this set, click HERE for all the details on how you can get it at a great discount or even FREE this month only (and with those amazing deals I mentioned above, this month you can get it FREE with a much smaller order)!

Time to hop along to the next stop. Be sure to check out Susan's blog for another beautiful creation!

Holiday Thanks!

As the Christmas decorations come down and we begin thinking of our plans (and perhaps resolutions) for 2011, I hope each of you had a very Merry Christmas filled with family, friends and memories to cherish.

Over the past couple days, my kiddos have been working on a task they honestly don't enjoy, but one I feel is important...writing thank you notes for the gifts they received this Christmas. I will admit, I am not as good at it as I would like to be, but I TRY to set an example for my children by sending thank you notes myself throughout the year.

If you've ever wondered what you could do with the rest of that holiday themed paper packet after scrapbooking your holiday photos or making your Christmas cards, then take a look at the cards I have to share today and pull out that leftover paper!

These two cards were both featured in my All-You-Can Create Holiday Card Workshop. By simply changing or adding a sentiment I have turned two pretty holiday cards into two great Thank You cards!

Be sure to come back on January 1st for the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop and more info on our amazing deals in January!

One Crafty Birthday!

This past weekend we celebrated my daughter's 7th birthday! When I asked her a month or so ago what she wanted to do for her birthday, she was quite certain she wanted nothing more than a "craft party." After throwing around a few ideas, she became most excited over the idea of a card making party. I knew that was something I could handle!

I asked around my circle of creative CTMH friends and got this wonderful idea from my sweet friend and fellow consultant, Amy. She had done a very similar party recently for her 8 year old daughter.

I started with our fun Recipe/Photo Boxes and decorated one for each girl, each in a different color (I used the back of some of our newest B&T papers to get the pretty solid colors with subtle patterns. After they were decorated, my daughter choose which friend would receive which box (remember this fact when you see the pictures below).

Inside each box, each girl received an ink pad to match her box, a package of Clear Sparkles, their first initial on a 2"x2" block, a glue stick and all of the parts and pieces pre-cut to make 12 sweet notecards (2 each of 6 designs - 1 to make at the party and 1 to make at home). Each girl also received a custom stamp with her name on it!

The girls had so much fun creating their own notecards. One of them even exclaimed, "This is SO much better than a Jolly Jump party!" They were so cute, and I truly had a wonderful afternoon with them!

Now, remember I said above that I asked Jenna to choose the colors of the box, ink and cards for each girl? Well, take a look at this sweet picture. Every single one of the girls showed up wearing the exact same color of her box (or at the very least coordinating with it). I had no idea my sweetie knew her friends so well!

I truly hope it was a birthday party she will never forget!

This month we are thinking ahead towards Valentine's Day and all those we hold near and dear with this gorgeous set called Amore!

My card is a 6"x6" card from the Originals Card Confidence Program. I used the simple and not-so-Christmas-y Bamboo & Cranberry B&T from the Mistletoe kit along with some Cocoa, Cranberry & Bamboo cardstock. Some simple distressing adds interest to the papers and give them a more finished look, don't you think?
I love adding dimension to my projects, and the simplest way to do that is by adhering elements with Foam Tape. This particular card 3 levels. The center Cocoa square is popped up as is the stamped heart.

Don't forget, the Amore set is only available through December 31st. Head on over to my website to see how you can get your set at a GREAT discount - or even FREE!

Now it's time to hop over to Haley Dyer's blog to see what she has to share with us - I'm sure it will be amazing!! Thanks for hopping with us this month, and be sure to check back in a few days for more creative inspiration!

One Concept...Two Looks!

Those of you who know me well, know I LOVE simplicity! Whether it be a simple card or a simple scrapbook page, I value the beauty of simplicity (of course, if you know me REALLY well, you might be wondering why that only applies to the crafty side of me and not the organizational side of me. Well...me too!!!)!

One thing I love to do to simplify my creating is to take one design concept, be it a card concept from Jeanette Lynton's Originals or Wishes books or a scrapbook layout design from one of our other amazing how-to books, and create it using different papers and embellishments!

I recently did this with my kids' school and class portraits from the last school year. I always like to keep these pages simple with just the 5"x7" portrait and the class photo (which, by the time I trim the somewhat obnoxious border the photographer adds on I am left with another 5"x7" photo). For these two layouts I used the "Charmed" concept from the new Magic Interactive Scrapbook Program (if you don't have Magic yet, you need to get it)!

For Joey's page, I opted for the cool and trendy You Rock papers and My Stickease! I created the fun tye-dye technique on the "3" Dimensional Element with sponge daubers and ink - so simple!
For Jenna's page I chose the Emporium papers to match her outfit (why, of course!). I added some fun elements from our rub-on collections and a Dimensional Element "K" inked to match the papers.
Ironically, as I was typing up this post, my daughter brought me THIS year's school pictures, so I guess I have another adventure in One Concept...Two Looks ahead of me!

Flower Power + Magic = FUN

If you've been around CTMH for a while you are sure to recognize the super cute papers! When we retired the Flower Power kit several years ago, I just couldn't let it go. It took me a while, but I FINALLY got a chance to use it!

When Jenna turned 5 she received her American Girl "Just Like Me" doll and promptly named her Jennafer (she was very specific about how it was to be spelled)! For her 5 year portraits I decided to include Jennafer. In their matching outfits, it is almost creepy seeing just how much they look alike!

This layout is a GREAT concept from the new Magic how-to book by Jeanette Lynton. If you haven't added Magic to your library yet, you must get it! It is filled with fresh, new layouts and lots of ideas and tutorials for interactive elements to add to your pages.

I love that I was able to mix and match the "vintage" Flower Power papers with some of our newest products, namely the Cotton Candy cardstock and the Pear Mini-Medley. The fun Twinkle Brads added a touch of bling too!

More layouts to come over the next few days! Stay tuned! :-)

Happy Scrapping! Happy Stamping!

Sharing the Magic...October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Another month has flown by and it's time to get hoppin' again...Blog Hoppin. that is! Welcome to the October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! If you've arrived from the amazing Michelle Nist's blog, you're on the right track. If this is your first stop, grab a cup of your favorite beverage, get cozy and get ready to be inspired! This month we have over 70 talented CTMH consultants participating, so there will be no shortage of creativity.

If the October Stamp of the Month doesn't get you into the holiday spirit, I don't know what will. This sweet, whimsical set of 12 stamps is here just in time for your holiday cards, tags and gifts - and is filled with plenty of magic.

My card was inspired by the super-creative Aaron Brown - I simply adored what she had done to embellish the Christmas tree, so I had to borrow the idea! To create the tree, I stamped the image on Colonial White cardstock (using New England Ivy ink). I immediately ran over the entire stamped image with a blending pen to color in the tree. After cutting out the tree, I added the velvet ribbon (found in the Cherry-O Creative Basics) and finished off with a few gold brads! The paper and ribbon on the card are both from the Mistletoe Creative Basics.

Don't forget, the Sharing the Magic stamp set is only available through October. Head over to my CTMH website to order your set beginning October 1st. As always, the Stamp of the Month set is $22.95, or you can earn it at a great discount - or even FREE! And be sure to check back here often as I have even more fun artwork using the Sharing the Magic set to share!

Time to get hoppin' to the next stop! I can't wait to see what Kim O'Rear has to share this month - check it out HERE!!

Happy Hopping!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Mom's all over town were singing this morning...'It's the most wonderful time of the year..." You know, from the Staples commercial!! Is it stuck in your head now too?!?!

Yes, today was the first day of school for my two kids, and thanks to Studio J, I was able to scrapbook the pictures I took this morning, BEFORE THEY HAD LUNCH! Cool, huh?!?! They are both very quickie layouts, but they are ready to be ordered and added to my album!

Jenna was all smiles on her first day of First Grade! She woke up early, got dressed, ate breakfast and then tried to help me wake Joey (see more of the story below)! She practically bounced onto campus never once looking back to see if I was still there.

I opted to use the Life's Delight kit for her layout to coordinate with her dress and backpack. I simply LOVED being able to resize the My Stickease to meet my needs.

Joey on the other hand has become a rather typical 4th grade boy! The one picture I didn't get was the one of Jenna completely ready for school standing at Joey's bedside as his head was buried in his pillow. He really does love school, but I think he wasn't quite ready to see his lazy days of summer come to an end.

His layout was done with the Zippidee Papers. I experimented a bit and added the Cocoa cardstock into the color palette and really liked the results!

I love how Studio J makes scrapbooking so easy! Haven't checked it out yet? Join me on September 16th at 10am or 7pm for a Studio J preview! Call or email me to RSVP.

Welcome to the monthly Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We have lots of talented consultants participating once again. If you have arrived here from Tammy Lea's blog, you are on the right track. If you get lost along you way, or find links not working, head over to Helen's blog for a complete list of hoppers.

This month's set is perfect for some hair-raising fun! Thriller (D1442) is a set of 9 stamps complete with sentiments and hauntingly spooky images!

As I showed you a few days ago on the New Product Blog Hop (see post below), I LOVE the versatility of the new Hooligans My Reflections kit. Who doesn't love those traditional Halloween colors?

This standard sized card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") uses Hooligans B&T papers. I sanded the edges of the striped paper to give it that distressed, antiqued look. Additional distressing was added using the Direct-to-Paper method of ink distressing - so easy! My favorite touch on this card is the Liquid Glass added to the eye patch.

Well, it's time to hop on over to another talented consultant's haunting grounds to see what she has created to share.Head on over to Shirley's blog, http://momnmescrap.blogspot.com/2010/08/ctmh-september-stamp-of-month-blog-hop.html for more tricks and treats!

Don't forget, Thriller is only available in September...get your set today!

Autumn/Winter 2010 New Product Blog Hop!

September 1st is just around the corner and that means it's time for the Autumn/Winter Idea Book! Thanks for joining us on the "New Product" blog hop where you are sure to get some amazing sneak peeks at the new goodies that fill the pages of the Autumn/Winter 2010 Idea Book!

If you've arrived here from Helen's Blog, you're on the right track. If this is your first stop on the hop, just follow the link provided at the end of each post until you get back here. We have over 50 talented consultant participating this time around!

As many of you know, once again this year I had the honor of teaching at Extravaganza at CTMH's Convention in Washington DC. As part of my teaching duties, I was given some new product to create with back in the Spring. One of the kits I received was the brand new Hooligans My Reflections kit! Honestly, I think I let out a little squeal when I saw it - it is just too stinkin' CUTE!

Hooligans is a traditional Halloween-themed kit featuring bright, cheery NEW colors (Gypsy, Lagoon, Pear and Sunset) and some adorable little monsters (call me strange, but I'm thinking I want to name some of these little guys!)!! Here are a few of the cards I created with the Hooligans set!

This fun and simple card uses the new Clear Cards, and the Hooligans My Stickease. I added a little Liquid Glass to the pumpkins for a little extra kick!

This little My Stickease guy is just too silly to not love! The 3 buttons are actually button brads found in the new Mini-Medley Accents in Sunset!

A trio of cuteness with these little Stickease monsters! I added a little Prisma Glitter because isn't everything better when it sparkles?!?!

Staz-On ink is the perfect companion to our Clear Cards. This card was so fun to create - and really simple! This one uses an existing stamp set, Beware!

Just in case you think this paper is JUST for Halloween, I made several cards that are not at all Halloween themed!

The sentiment on this one is a My Stickease image! I wanted this one to sparkle a bit more, so I covered the black polka-dots on the Gypsy B&T with Prisma glitter.

More My Stickease and Prisma Glitter - sparkle, sparkle!

The fun colors lend themselves perfectly to any festive celebration. This card uses an existing stamp set, It's Your Day, along with the new Clear Cards and a little Prisma Glitter!

How about this one...nothing Halloween about it! I simply LOVE the versatility of our My Reflections kits!

And finally, this super quick 3x3 card using mere scraps! Again...no Halloween here! And don't you just LOVE that Pear color?!?!

I will have a lot more to share from the NEW Autumn/Winter Idea Book over the next few weeks, so be sure to check back often, or sign up to "Follow" my blog so you don't miss a thing!

Time to move on to the next blog in the hop! Head on over to LaJeania's blog to see what she has created for us to enjoy! Happy Hopping! :-)

Simply Splendid!

Well, it seems FINALLY, summer has decided to make its appearance here in Southern California! And what a SPLENDID appearance it is...sunny days, warm skies, and best of all NO marine layer!!

Speaking of splendid things...have you ordered your August Stamp of the Month, Something Splendid? Today I have a few more gorgeous cards to share with you.

I always love my upline Sue Laufer's creations and this is certainly no exception. Sue used the Splendor papers, a little Colonial White Ribbon and a few metal accents to create this perfectly splendid card. I love the Edge Anchor holding the ribbon in place.

Fellow consultant Janice Hodgkin also used the Splendor papers to make this sweet 6x6 card. Don't you just love that CTMH's Background and Texture papers are double-sided? Janice uses them so well on this card!

And finally, if you haven't played with our Clear Cards yet, you MUST get some! The possibilities are endless. Linda Taylor used one of the scalloped cards from the pack of Circle Clear Cards. Her use of Stardust Glitz glitter gel add just a touch of sparkle to those scallops.

The inside view of Linda's card...cool, huh?!?!

If you haven't ordered your Something Splendid set, call, email or simply head on over to my website - http://beth.MyCTMH.com and get yours today! The Stamp of the Month set is only available through August 31st.
