Teacher Appreciation Week!

A couple week's ago, my son's school spent an entire week showing our wonderful teachers just how much they mean to us! What better way to do that than with gifts and goodies! They were treated to a luncheon and a breakfast hosted by our PTC as well as little goodies brought in each day by the kids.

A friend and I got together and made 4o of these cute little water bottle toppers for our teachers and staff. They are so easy to make - and so fun to give!

Here's a quick how-to...
-Start with a piece of cardstock 3" x 10 1/2". Score each short end at 3".
-Use a circle punch or a coluzzle circle cutter to cut a circle in the center of one of those 3" ends.
-Fold the other 3" end up to create the pocket. We simply held the pocket together with brads.
-Cut a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" square out of a coordinating B&T paper to cover the pocket and decorate to your liking. You'll notice we used the scalloped circle we punched out for the top as part of the design on the pocket.
-Place a single serving tea or lemonade packet in the pocket and hang on a water bottle!
As easy as that!

We used my very favorite paper of all time, Let's Get Together (X7083B) along with two fun stamp sets, Thank You (D1361) and Delight in Everything (D1204).

Things That Bring Me Joy

Last week I came across the blog of Karen Pedersen, a fellow CTMH consultant and amazingly creative woman. She has a wonderful post about things that bring her joy and she asked her readers to share thier lists. I loved the idea and wanted to share it here.

10 Little Things the Bring me JOY:
1. Watching my children interact, look out for each other and love each other
2. Watching my amazing husband playing with our children
3. Date nights & weekends away with my hubby
4. Cozying up with a good "chick-lit" book
5. Breakfast/lunch with friends
6. Sleeping in
7. Creative time
8. Country music
9. Watching Grey's Anatomy (although it wasn't very joyful last week!)
10. Giving...whether it be a small gift, a handmade card, a hug or my time!

Now it's YOUR turn! Add your comment and tell us what 10 little things bring YOU joy. I'll be sharing your responses this week!

Wishes DO Come true!

As most of you know, I absolutely LOVE Close to My Heart's how-to books. Cherish, Imagine and Reflections make scrapbooking so easy - I never create without them!

And every single time I sit down to make cards for loved ones, I have my copy of Originals nearby.

Well, I am so excited...Close To My Heart has just added yet another amazing how-to book to our library. The brand-new Wishes book is available NOW (yes, the Summer Idea Book says it will be available in June, but low and behold, it's here early)!

I've already ordered my copy and simply cannot wait to get it - I'm hoping to have it by the end of the week.

I have a hunch you love those books as much as I do - several of you ordered your very own copy of Wishes at the Open House on Saturday, sight unseen - that says a lot about these great books!

To get your copy of Wishes, simply head to my CTMH website at http://www.beth.myctmh.com/ and place your order. All your Wishes can come true too!!!
