Annual Inspirations New Product Blog Hop

The brand new Annual Inspirations from Close to My Heart has been out for just about a week now! Have you checked it out? Isn't it GREAT?!?! So many fun, trendy goodies for all of your creative projects. If you haven't checked it out yet, be sure to visit my website to browse the online version.

Whether or not you've devoured the pages of the new Annual Inspirations, you definitely don't want to miss this blog hop! We have over 50 talented consultants ready to share some of their favorite NEW products featured in the Annual Inspirations. If you've arrived here from Terry Ann's site, you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, following along is simple - just click on the links provided at the end of each blog post to be directed to the next blog in the hop. By the time you get back here (or your original starting point), you'll be itching to get crafting and will certainly have a wish list as long as your arm! :-) If at any point you get lost along the way or find links not working, the complete list of hoppers can be found HERE!

I love ALL of the new My Reflections paper packets featured in the Annual Inspirations, but one of my favorites is Confetti Wishes...the bright, cheery color palette is perfect for year round cheer! This 12x12 layout features Confetti Wishes paper and Complements as well as a touch of Gold Shimmer Trim for a little kick! Do you love that purple color? It's one of our 5 new colors, Thistle!

I added a bit of 3-D Foam tape under the letters that spell out "make" and "wish" for a little dimension.

I also played a bit with Confetti Wishes and an adorable new Hostess Exclusive stamp set, Cuddly Salutations - just $6 if you are a Hostess with a gathering total over $150. This cute set of 10 stamps is filled with little animals ands sweet sentiments all in "speech bubbles".
Of course, I had to play with a line image set like Cuddly Salutations because I am absolutely IN LOVE with the new markers CTMH is carrying. We are proud to feature the ShinHan Touch Twin alcohol inks markers. They are double sided with a fine tip on one end and a broad tip on the other, and when combined with the Colorless Blender, shading and blending is a cinch!

Below are three additional cards we created at Convention. All three feature Confetti Wishes paper and the ShinHan markers! Honestly, these markers are so easy to use and get a beautiful look each time. These cards were the results of my very first use of the ShinHan markers.

Time to hop along and see what Judy Faye has created to share with us!

August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: What a Hoot!

August already? Where has summer gone? For many, August means the end of summer and back to school, but for us at Close to My Heart it is just the beginning...the beginning of our brand new Annual Inspirations idea book and catalog (more on that fabulousness in upcoming posts). It also means time for a new Stamp of the Month and a new blog hop!

If you've arrived here from Priscilla's blog, you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, following along is simple. Just click the links at the bottom of each blog post and you will be directed to the next blog in the hop. It's one big circle, so by the time you've made it back to your starting point, you are sure to be filled with tons of ideas and inspiration. If you get lost along the way or find links not working, you can find the complete list of hoppers HERE!

The August Stamp of the Month, What a Hoot is a fun and whimsical set filled with adorable owls and party accessories - perfect for Halloween or any celebration!

I chose to pair What a Hoot with our new Pathfinding papers. I absolutely adore the touch of blue mixed in with the traditional fall color scheme. That blue by the way, is a brand new color just joining our color palette, Glacier...isn't it "cool"!?!?

This set lends itself perfectly to the paper piecing method, so I pulled out all of the papers in the Pathfinding set and stamped and cut away! A little Bronze Shimmer Trim and a few Brown and Tan Sparkles add the finishing touches.

Time to hop along and see what Wendy has created to share with us - I know you won't be disappointed! Enjoy! And remember, the August SOTM is only available through August 31st. You can order it today for $17.95 or just $5 when you place a $50 order. Head on over to my website and get yours today!

July SOTM Blog Hop: Circus Alphabet

Happy Summer! I am so excited to be back to blogging and the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. I took a few months off as I took a temporary full-time teaching position at my kids' school. I loved the experience and being back in the classroom, but I am thrilled to get my creative time back!

If you have arrived here from Dawn's blog, you are on the right track. If this is your first stop in the hop, following along is easy. Simply click on the links provided at the end of each blogger's post and you should be taken directly to the next blog. By the time you arrive back here (or your original starting point) you are sure to be filled with inspiration. If you get lost along the way, the entire list of hoppers can be found HERE!

This month we are featuring an alphabet set that is as much fun as a 3-ring circus! In fact, it's even called Circus Alphabet. I love alphabet sets because they are so versatile...scrapbookers need them to create fun and unique titles and this particular set is the perfect size for card makers too! Notice you get not one alphabet, but TWO whimsical alphabets in this set! What value!!!

I am still totally in love with Lollydoodle (and will be stocking up before we run out since it is retiring at the end of the month), so I wanted to play with it again. I also haven't had a ton of time to play with the new embossing folders, so a plan was set! I embossed my White Daisy cardstock and as I went to add adhesive to adhere it to my card, I discovered the cool look the backside of the embossed paper provided! On both of these examples, the 4U card shows the embossed side and the HI card features the backside. The 4U card also shows both alphabets in the Circus Alphabet set.

The Quatrefoil Embossing Folder (Z1926) is featured on the first set of cards while the Dot Emobssing Folder (Z1924) is featured on the second set.

Close to My Heart currently carries 5 embossing folders (with more to come) that will work with your favorite embossing machine.

Time to hop on to Judy Faye's blog to see what she has created to share with us!

Remember, the July Stamp of the Month is only available through July 31st. Order yours today for just $5 when you place a $50 order. What a deal - TWO alphabets for $5!!!

Anniversary Special!

I can hardly believe it has been 10 years since I turned the pages of my very first Close to My Heart Idea Book - it was one LARGE spiral bound book back then (we affectionately call it Big Bertha). I shared that book and all it's treasures with a dear group of friends who gathered each month to scrapbook. "Can't you have a party?" one of them asked me. I'm not usually one to turn down a party, so it was booked. By the end of the evening, I had fallen in love with the fun scrapbooking products and even those cute little stamps I had told my new consultant we weren't really interested in - after all, we were strictly scrapbookers and had no interest in stamping! I closed my party and then signed up as a consultant truly for nothing more than to get a discount on all those cute products!

Well, one friend hosted a party, which led to another and another, and before long a true business was born. It has been an amazing 10 years. Conventions, retreats, incentive trips...all have provided so many treasured memories. However, the most valuable thing I have gained from my Close to My Heart business is the relationships...I have formed countless friendships from customers who have become dear friends to fellow consultants who I look forward to seeing at every CTMH event. I cherish each and every one of the special people who have become a part of my life through Close to My Heart!

And because you are all close to MY heart, I am offering a special to celebrate my anniversary! Simply place an order of $30 or more (before tax and shipping) on my website before March 31st and I will send you a FREE stamp set as my gift to you. Studio J orders count too! All studio J orders over $30 (before tax and shipping) will receive a free layout credit.

My most heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you for being a part of my journey with Close to My Heart. While I started out to earn a discount on my own habit hobby, I stay because of all of you!! Happy Anniversary to US!!

March SOTM BlogHop: Happy Place

Welcome to the March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you've arrived here from Jill Lucas' blog, you are on the right track. If this is your first stop, following along is simple. Just click the link provided at the bottom of each blog post and you'll be taken to the next blog in the hop. This month we have over 50 consultants participating, so no doubt you'll gain plenty of inspiration.

The March Stamp of the Month is Happy Place (D1403), a sweet set of 7 stamps featuring adorable Russian Matryoshka nesting dolls and sentiments of home and family.

This fun 5x7 card features the new Jubilee papers . The nesting doll image was stamped and then colored in using Indian Corn Blue, Honey and Cranberry markers. A touch of Jute Ribbon across the sentiment piece added a homey touch. Not clearly visible in this picture is the fact that the heart on the center of the doll is cut out and attached using 3-D Foam tape.

Time to hop along and see what Alyson has created to share with all of us!

Remember, the Happy Place stamp set is only available through March - retail value $17.95, but place a $50 order and add it on for just $5. Order yours today!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you are all enjoying your Valentine's Day with those you love the most! I just wanted to jump on here and share a quick card I created for my love!

Are you a cardmaker who thinks you don't really need alphabet stamps? Perhaps this card will change your mind. Other than the little heart, the entire card was stamped using alphabet stamps from Close to My Heart! The background was stamped using the retired Trinity Alphabet (but any medium sized alphabet will work). The center piece uses the Polka Dot Alphabet and a small heart. I also used a little Ruby and Slate cardstock and a bit of leftover Sparkle & Shine paper (yes, Christmas paper for Valentine's Day)!

I found a card with a similar design on Pinterest recently and fell in LOVE with it. Today was the perfect day to re-create it! Happy Valentine's Day!
