Spring/Summer Idea Book: NEW Paper Packets (and a GIVEAWAY)

Skylark

Skylark is a beautiful kit that just speaks springtime - soft shades of green, a pop of Lagoon and touches of soft browns. I love the contrast found in the papers in this kit - classic and a little earthy mixed with trendy patterns like the Lagoon diagonal stripe! Watch for a Skylark scrapbooking night in July!

Ivy Lane

Beautiful greens, pinks and purples make Ivy Lane perfect for your springtime memories! Ivy Lane has both a scrapbooking Workshop on the Go kit and a card making kit. My Ivy Lane scrapbooking night is coming up February 10th - contact me for details and join us!

Ariana

Soft and beautifully elegant, Ariana is perfect for weddings, heritage or capturing those special women and girls in your life. Like Skylark, the papers in Ariana have a striking contrast making this such a versatile kit!

Balloon Ride

Just days after I first saw the Balloon Ride kit, I began noticing hot air balloons on things in stores all over - on blouses in the ladies' department at Macy's, on clothes in the kids' department at Target, Christmas ornaments at Pottery Barn - hot air balloons are becoming rather trendy! This paper packet features a soft, subtle color palette making it perfect for babies, but there is also a gorgeous travel feel to Balloon Ride!

Jubilee

With its fun, bright color palette, Jubilee just screams summertime - reds, blues, yellows and greens - with a touch of that country fair flair! Join me in June and tell the stories of your summer with the pages from out Jubilee scrapbook workshop.

Lollydoodle

Bright, fun and whimsical, Lollydoodle is my favorite of this book's new kits! I have two Lollydoodle workshops scheduled and hope you'll join me for one or both. On February 26th, I'm hosting a Lollydoodle card night - we'll make 15 cards and you'll keep the adorable stamp set. The Lollydoodle scrapbook night will be in March.

Timberline

What's summer if we're not celebrating the outdoors? The Timberline paper packet is just want you need to preserve all of those camping trips, hiking excursions and fishing outings. The Timberline scrapbook night will be in May, and stay tuned for a special masculine card workshop featuring Timberline.

February SOTM: Wild About Love

It's February, and if you know Close to My Heart, you know what that means...a brand-new idea book and oodles of new products and inspiration! Of course, we are kicking off the Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book season with the February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! If you've arrived here from Maria's blog, welcome! The February Stamp of the Month, Wild About Love (S1402) is a fun set of 9 stamps which will probably have you humming (or even outright singing) the popular, catchy, and perhaps somewhat odd song! Adorable little foxes and a few fun phrases make this set perfect for Valentine's Day or any day you want to tell someone you are wild about them!

While pinks, reds and purples are perfect for love and Valentine's Day, I decided to give my foxes a bit more of a masculine feel. I paired them with the brand-new Timberline paper packet which provided fun color scheme of Goldrush and Lagoon. 

The speech bubble can be found in the Quotes Dimensional Elements set or cut from the Cricut Artiste cartridge. To stamp the sentiment, I used the masking technique to stamp the two words in different colors and orientations. Each fox was given just a touch of bling with the Sparkles-Brown & Tan Assortment.

 There you have it...now you know the answer to the question, 'What does the fox say?"

January Stamp of the Month: Cross-Stitch Wishes

The January Stamp of the Month, Cross-Stitch Wishes (S1401) is a unique set of 13 stamps designed to give you that heartfelt cross-stitched look with out using a needle and thread!

I loved this simple card design featured in the Frosted Card Making Workshop on the Go Kit and decided to re-create it using Cross-Stitch Wishes and Babycakes Paper Packet. Other supplies used include Exclusive Inks in Slate and Goldrush, Bakers Twine-Paradise Assortment,  Black & Grey Sparkles Assortment, and of course, a little 3-D Foam tape for that extra pop!

December Stamp of the Month: Special Care

Happy December...and welcome to the December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! If you've arrived here from Adeline's blog, you are on the right track. If this is your first stop,thanks for joining us. It's likely there are storms and cold weather all across the country today, so grab your favorite warm beverage, get cozy by the fire with a warm blanket and hop along with us as we feature a super fun stamp set.

The December Stamp of the Month, Special Care (S1312) is a set of 6 stamps that remind me of those old-fashioned signs that are so popular right now. Four of the images coordinate with shapes found on the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

For this quick and simple card, I combined two of my favorite current trends...banners and the chalkboard look! I used the Laughing Lola papers and a touch of Silver Shimmer Trim - I just can't get enough of the Silver Shimmer Trim! The sentiment is stamped using the White Daisy pigment ink which provides a nice bold image against the black cardstock.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm sure this week finds all of you gathering with family and friends, reflecting on your many blessings, and giving thanks for each of them. Among the many things we are so very thankful for are the many wonderful teachers who have touched the lives of our children.  Today I wanted to share a quick and easy gift my son delivered to his middle school teachers today.

The My Creations Burlap Drawstring Bags and Muslin Drawstring bags are the perfect size to hold gift cards! I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out simple circle tags and stamped the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment using the Holiday Tags stamp set. The leaves are from the Fall Harvest set and stamped in Autumn Terracotta and New England Ivy (using the Rock-n-Roll technique)! I added a little grosgrain ribbon and my gift bags were complete!
